We study ecology across spatial scales – from local interactions to biogeography. Our main focus is the structure and function of ecosystems with respect to agriculture, biodiversity conservation, invasive species and aquatic-terrestrial interactions.

A team educated in Biology, Environmental Science, Forestry and Landscape Ecology, we are dedicated to solve both basic and applied research questions.

We instruct students in Environmental Science (Bachelor and Master of Science), Biology (Bachelor and Master of Education) and Conservation Biology (Bachelor of Science). Our courses cover diverse topics in plant and animal biology - from physiology over conservation biology to environmental education.
